What ideas and areas would you like to see Startupbootcamp applicants focus on?
Startupbootcamp is not as tech-obsessed as some of its startup accelerator friends. We think there are tons of great business ideas which are tech-enabled without being high tech. Having said that, the applications so far range widely from high tech to simple business ideas with an interesting twist.
What do you think we should focus on? Is the iPad as revolutionary as some people think it is? Is crowdsourcing anything passé? Are there still exciting things to do with geo-location? What do you think?
Submit your comments below and I'll share a synopsis.

I'd say high-tech for sure. Google, Skype and Apple I were all high-tech when they came out.
But for investors it's a tradeoff: expect lower profit, take lower risk OR higher profit, higher risk.
Anyways, I think nothing low-tech will ever go BIG. Business ideas alone don't make new products, but new ways to sell the same product; it's tech that makes new ones.
And if you've got something innovative tech-wise and you can couple it with a fairly good (not perfect) business plan, then you'll most probably rock the market.

1)Focus: Simple products mixing existing technologies and visibly adapted to the actual net environment.
2) iPad: Availabilty for the end user should not be "device" related, so the iPad fact does not determine a special advantage greater than a deployment on another popular device do.

4) Geo-location: Definitely, specially connecting features to existing services.

1) Derivatives of online advertising to monetize free information
2) Analytical tools of social media for companies, perhaps in connection with interesting and innovative ways to target specific audiences with custom made advertising
3) position based advertising

Services connecting physical world and Internet - cloud based. Idea's that are scalable targeting wide audiences, leveraging viral internet distribution and solving real problems. Keep it simple - the best idea's can be summarized in 1 short sentence.

Focus on what has not been thought of before! The coming products and services of the world has not been invented yet. Then; focus on what is scaleable and global.
